Cancer in Covid Times

The coronavirus or Covid -19 is known to affect the people with low immunity. Since cancer weakens the immunity. Though there is no direct link established for the affects of corona virus on cancer patients, the weekend immunity is the most vulnerable aspect to consider. Even cancer survivors are considered at higher risk than others as the cancer and the treatment might have affected the overall health of the survivor.

Initial studies on patients suggested that Lung Cancer patients have the higher risk of getting the coronavirus infection. Any other underlying health condition along with cancer elevates the risk of getting the infection.

It thus becomes important that people with active cancer cases should be extremely careful and precautious during this pandemic and should immediately contact their oncologist to report the symptoms. In case of the covid symptoms in cancer survivors, they could opt to talk to regular doctor about the symptoms first.
